Last week, I mentioned to you that when the Word of God is quickened to your spirit, by the Holy Spirit, it’s a powerful and transformative experience.
This experience is God showing us more about Him. Think about it! God desires a relationship with you so deeply that He came to earth in the flesh and died on the cross for our sins. But He didn’t stop there. After His resurrection, He sent His Spirit—the Holy Spirit—to be with us. He even promises, “I will never leave you nor forsake you”.
For several weeks now, we’ve been discussing the Holy Spirit, who is God, and different ways He communicates to us. His longing to be with us is so profound that He has come in spirit form to be with us, to communicate with us, to lead, to comfort, and to reveal what we need to know here on earth. The fullness of this truth is overwhelming when you truly look at it. Imagine being in the presence of the most famous person in the world, and they say just five words to you— you’d never forget that moment. You’d replay it in your mind over and over. Now think about this: revelation knowledge is God Himself speaking directly to you, giving you something that will draw you closer to Him, empower your life, bring healing, provide direction, and more. It’s no small thing!
The Holy Spirit is God. He is everywhere on this earth, and He is God in you. His presence is Him. When we worship and praise Him, we feel His presence—that’s because He is there. Anointing is God’s presence manifested. It’s hard to fully put into words what I’m trying to explain because it goes beyond comprehension. The Holy Spirit was sent so He (God) could be with us, be in us, and lead and guide us. God is moving through us, revealing His plan and love for mankind, and He’s using His Spirit to accomplish it.
Consider these Scriptures that directly refer to the Holy Spirit as God:
In Acts 5:3-4, Peter confronts Ananias about lying to the Holy Spirit, and Peter says: “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit… You have not lied to man but to God.”
Here, Peter equates lying to the Holy Spirit with lying to God, clearly showing that the Holy Spirit is God.
Another key passage is 2 Corinthians 3:17, which states: “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
This verse also identifies the Holy Spirit as the Lord, affirming His divinity. You cannot separate yourself from Him or His love. The Holy Spirit is God, speaking to us both personally and as a body of believers.
Isaiah 55:8-9 reminds us of this truth: “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways… as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways.”
We cannot fully comprehend His ways and how God is one being but exists in three persons— Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This is the mystery of the Trinity. The Father is relational, the Son (Jesus) is the God-man who walked among us, and now, the Holy Spirit is His divine presence in us, working through believers.
Everything I’m writing about is an expression of His love for mankind. As 1 John 4:8 says: “God is love.”
He revealed Himself through the Word, became flesh, and came to earth to die for our sins so that we could live with Him forever. And finally, He sent His Spirit not only to be with us but to communicate, lead, and comfort us. That is the ultimate expression of His love!
Conclusion:
The Holy Spirit is God’s constant presence in our lives—leading, guiding, and comforting us. His revelation knowledge is personal, powerful, and life-changing. As you seek to grow closer to God, remember that He has already given you His Spirit to walk with you every step of the way. In your everyday moments, in your struggles, and in your triumphs, the Holy Spirit is there, expressing God’s unending love for you. Hold fast to that truth, and let His Spirit lead you into a deeper, more intimate relationship with Him.
