Throughout the years in my practice, I have encountered various questions about muscle testing, particularly from Christians who inquire if it is mentioned in the Bible. My response has always been no, it is not explicitly mentioned. However, I often remind them that many aspects of modern life that help us and we take for granted, are not found in the Bible.
In fact, my personal journey with muscle testing began almost two decades ago when my wife suffered from severe carpal tunnel syndrome. As a devout Southern Baptist, I was skeptical of anything outside our religious and cultural norms. We questioned everything outside of our box, and if it seemed the least bit weird, I would steer clear of it. It was very difficult for me to even consider visiting a chiropractor, let alone one who used muscle testing as the primary diagnostic tool for healing his patients. However, after exhausting traditional medical options that offered limited hope, we reluctantly decided to explore alternative therapies, including muscle testing. To our astonishment, the results were nothing short of miraculous. Muscle testing not only spared my wife from surgery, but also ignited my curiosity and faith in this unconventional healing modality.
Inspired by our transformative experience, I embarked on a journey of exploration and integration, eventually incorporating muscle testing into my counseling practice. Over the years, I have witnessed countless individuals find relief and guidance through muscle testing, despite initial reservations or skepticism.
So, why would I use something if it’s not in the Bible? One reason is because it actually works wonders in my life, bringing healing and showcasing God’s infinite love and concern for us. Throughout history, many Christians have a tendency to squint skeptically at anything new that comes their way. It’s like they’re allergic to progress or something. Their go-to excuse for rejecting the latest and greatest? “If it’s not in the Bible, count me out,” or my personal favorite, “Got a scripture to back that up?” But let’s take a little stroll down the aisle of modern conveniences. Ever heard of coffee? Yep, not a peep about it in the Good Book. And where do I start with this list? Batteries, smartphones, Wi-Fi routers… you name it, the Bible hasn’t mentioned it. So, the next time someone insists on sticking strictly to scripture, just remind them of all the amazing stuff they’re missing out on. Ignorance truly is bliss, isn’t it? Funny how we conveniently turn a blind eye to what’s convenient while questioning anything that dares to challenge our comfort zone.
And there you have it! We embrace what’s convenient with open arms, yet we balk at anything that dares to ruffle our feathers. But life’s too short to stay stuck in the past, clinging desperately to the familiar. So, let’s raise a toast to embracing the unknown, stepping out of our comfort zones, and discovering all the incredible things He has to offer – whether they’re in the Bible or not. After all, isn’t that what faith and adventure are all about? Cheers to that!
